Our web site is developed at the direction of the South Carolina Governor's Cup Billfishing Series' Coordinators and Board of Directors. For questions or comments about the content of this web site such as standings, updates, or information you believe may be incorrect, please contact the Program or Tournament Coordinator.
Coding, Standards, and Compatibility
Our web developer is Tim Snoots. All HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript code on this site is hand coded by Tim Snoots using standards-based coding that follows modern best-practices. Our site features quality, efficient code that is semantic, accessible, separates content (XHTML), presentation (CSS), and logic (PHP, JavaScript), and uses progressive enhancement with minimal JavaScript. The code of this site's pages can be W3C validated using the links at the bottom of each page. Therefore, this site should load fast, look great, and have a stable, consistent appearance in nearly any modern, standards-compliant web browser on any computer platform. The appearance of this site has been tested with current versions of the Safari, Firefox, Opera, Lynx, and Internet Explorer web browsers on Mac, PC, and Linux platforms.

A Brief History of the Web Site
2009 - In January 2009 the site was refreshed with a completely new look and coding modernizations. The new site now features a more graphically appealing look, and larger font sizes.
2006 - The web site was redeveloped from the ground up in March 2006 with the goals of making it easier to find information quickly and to update it's behind-the-scenes programming to meet modern web design standards. In addition, the site was moved from it's old address (long and hard to remember) http://www.dnr.sc.gov/etc/govcup/govcup.html to its new address http://govcup.dnr.sc.gov/ to bring it within SCDNR's new domain name.
2001 - Initial web site launch.
