Blue Water Conservationist Award
Born from the concern over declining catches is a new incentive program, the Blue Water Conservation Award. This award program has been established by the Governor's Cup to encourage sportsman to aid fishery managers by tagging tuna, dolphin and wahoo. Hopefully, participants will find the original, hand-carved trophy by Chris Costello, awarded to the boat accumulating the most points tagging these three species, to be an incentive to tag fish for science. By tagging and releasing some of their tuna, dolphin and wahoo catch, sportsfishermen can make a contribution to the future of these gamefish through the information gathered when these fish are recovered.
