About the Web Site
Welcome to the "new improved" Gov. Cup Site
This web site was redeveloped from the ground up in March 2006 with the goals of making it as easy as possible to find information quickly and to update it's behind-the-scenes programming to meet modern web design standards that allow it to load fast, have a consistent appearance, look good on screen, print well, and be easily updated. The new design replaces one that was in place since 2001.
With the relaunch of the site for 2006 we have also moved the site from the old address (long and hard to remember) http://www.dnr.sc.gov/etc/govcup/govcup.html to its new address http://govcup.dnr.sc.gov/. Please adjust your Favorites and Bookmarks accordingly. This move also brings the Governor's Cup web site under the SCDNR's new domain name.
I hope everyone likes the new format. If you have any comments or questions about the web site's design or technical details please email or call Tim Snoots (this sites Webmaster). For questions or comments about the content of this web site such as standings updates or information you believe may be incorrect, please contact us.

Accessibility
Efforts have been taken to make this web site accessible to all users including those with disabilities. This site meets level Double-A conformance to the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 and is also Section 508 compliant.
A site map is available for our web site. In addition, several accesskey shortcuts are provided for quickly navigating our site. Depending on your browser and operating system, the following keys when pressed in combination with the [alt] key then [Enter] (Windows), or the [control] key (Mac) will take you to specific pages or page areas: [0] Accessibility Info, [S] Skip to Top of Content, [1] Gov. Cup Home, [2] What's New, [3] Site Map, [9] Contact Us, [0] About this Site.
Technical Details
All HTML, CSS, and PHP code on this site is hand coded by Tim Snoots using BBEdit on an Apple PowerBook running Mac OS X. The code complies with the HTML 4.01 "Strict" DTD, all formatting and layout are through CSS, and the site meets WCAG and Section 508 accessibility guidelines. This site has an absolute minimum of client-side scripting, and contains no ActiveX, Java, Flash, or pop-ups. This site does not use cookies or collect any information about you.
Therefore, this site should load fast, look great, and have a stable, consistent appearance in nearly any recent, standards-compliant web browser on any platform (it even works in Microsoft Internet Explorer - the web developer's nightmare). The appearance of this site has been tested with current versions of the Safari, Mozilla, Firefox, Opera, Lynx, Konqueror, and Internet Explorer web browsers on Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. Special CSS style sheets are also in use that result in well formated printed pages.
